Why Jewellumination is Special
A new standard for Tokyo sightseeing! Are you familiar with Yomiuriland Jewellumination, the world’s first gemstone-colored illumination created by a world-renowned lighting designer?
On a hilltop away from the hustle and bustle of the city, approximately 6.5 million lights replicating the brilliance of gemstones such as sapphires and rubies invite you into an extraordinary, fantasy world. For couples seeking a romantic night or travelers looking for the perfect “Instagrammable” photo, this is one of the most special spots in Tokyo.
In this article, we will introduce the event period, access, prices, and the “spectacular scenery of light” through stunning images.
1.One of a Kind! The Secret of the Gemstone Colors
Jewellumination uses original LEDs developed by world-renowned lighting designer Motoko Ishii, inspired by the colors of precious gemstones. You can enjoy different light displays in each area, and simply wandering through the park offers the moving experience of being lost inside a jewelry box.
2. A Breathtaking Spectacle! The Fountain Show
The dynamic fountain show is an absolute must-see. It features a massive 15-meter ring water screen, fire, lasers, water, and gemstone-colored lights, all perfectly synchronized with music.
Gathering the very best of Japanese entertainment technology, this powerful performance is so beautiful it will leave you speechless. You can enjoy three different types of shows, which change depending on the time.
3. A Tree-Lined Path Enveloped in Jewels: Jewelry Promenade
The “Jewelry Promenade,” stretching for approximately 180 meters, is a literal tree-lined path of gemstone light. Each individual tree is decorated with beautiful color gradients, creating a mystical walkway where every angle is picture-perfect. Wrapped in a romantic atmosphere, it is the ideal spot to capture a truly memorable photo.
The Ultimate Experience! The Fusion of Nighttime Attractions and Light
The charm of Yomiuriland lies not only in viewing the illuminations but in the ability to actually experience being inside the light.
The “Bandit,” the park’s popular high-speed roller coaster, transforms into “Starlight Bandit” during the illumination period. You can enjoy the simultaneous thrill of racing at high speeds through a course of gemstone-colored lights while taking in the Tokyo night skyline. Why not experience the exhilarating sensation of flying through a world of light?
The amusement park classic, the merry-go-round, also gets a special makeover during the Jewellumination period. Wrapped in gemstone-colored lights, the “Jewelry Go-Land” exudes a romantic and elegant atmosphere. Along with the Ferris wheel, it is incredibly popular with couples and families as an emotional and photogenic landscape.
