Kobayashi Noen has been a farmer since the Edo period.Since 1960, Kobayashi Farm has been taking on the challenge of growing mandarin oranges in the Sayama Hills, a green island floating in the middle of Tokyo’s urban area.

Now, 60 years later, the oranges have been branded as “Tokyo Sayama Mikan,” and many fans visit the farm to taste them.From fall, visitors can enjoy “mikan picking,” which allows them to taste the oranges on the spot, and direct sales of grapes, available only at the farm in summer, are also popular.
