Enjoy trout fishing and BBQ with no equipment needed 「Hinohara Village Kanoto International Trout Fishing Area」
This village-operated fishing facility is located in the northern part of Hinohara Village, in the 「Kitadani」 area. It is close to popular sightseeing spots such as 「Hossawa Falls」 and 「Kanotoiwa Rock」, and in June 2025 the main building was renovated, making the facilities more comfortable and user-friendly.
In the managed area along the Kita-Akigawa River, visitors can enjoy trout fishing. The fish you catch can be taken home, or grilled with salt and enjoyed on the spot. With an advance reservation, you can also enjoy a BBQ without bringing any equipment.
Inside the facility is the dining area 「Kuubee-ya」, which offers a wide variety of dishes including salt-grilled rainbow trout, fried trout, koumi-yaki, a maitake mushroom tendon bowl—a Hinohara specialty—Hinohara potato fries, ramen, and more. Renovation work is still ongoing on a multi-year plan, with further improvements scheduled to make the facility even more comfortable.
