TAKAO 36 SAUNA

Enjoy craft beer and a sauna

at the foot of Mt. Takao, a Michelin three-star destination.

TAKAO 36 SAUNA is a stylish sauna facility that opened in July 2025 at the foot of Mt. Takao. It features four sauna rooms equipped with stoves from the world-renowned sauna brand Harvia, three cold baths filled with soft and crystal-clear underground water from the mountain area, and two indoor and outdoor relaxation terraces where you can unwind while listening to the soothing sounds of the nearby river and birdsong. Recently, more and more visitors are coming to Mt. Takao specifically to experience this sauna.

On the second floor, 36 KITCHEN offers a wide variety of dishes such as fish and chips, beef rump steak with Madeira wine sauce, and mountain curry made with seasonal Hachioji vegetables. The most popular items, however, are the restaurant’s signature kama-meshi (rice cooked in an iron pot). Choices include salmon and salmon roe kama-meshi, domestic beef sukiyaki kama-meshi, and the special “36 Sauna Totonoi Kama-meshi.” These freshly prepared dishes are hearty and highly praised by visitors. The restaurant can also be used for dining only.

On the first floor there is a brewery producing craft beer under the name TAKAO 36 BEER, and freshly brewed beer can be enjoyed on both the first and second floors. After relaxing in the sauna at the foot of Mt. Takao, why not enjoy a refreshing glass?
