During the Warring States Period, Hachioji was a hotbed of battle where the Japanese tradition of Yabusame (horseback archery)–the art of attacking the enemy with a whistling arrow (Kabura-ya) shot from atop a galloping horse–was born! Enjoy horseback martial arts and sword-drawing performances, and even try riding a Japanese archery horse.
